Retail Leasing Architectural Check List

  1. Location, Location, Location
  2. Space usability for proposal:
    Bldg. code compliance
    Allocations/dimensions for new use needs and efficiency
  3. ADA compliance:
    Availability of past SF Building approved ADA Permit dwgs.
    Entrance door size, 5' level landing on both sides, jamb side space, door sidewalk clearance, closer/pressure, ramp slope, lift size
    Sidewalk - curb to entrance door slope
    Floor level differentials over 1/2" -
    Access corridor widths Ð 44" min.
    Toilets - (1 or 2) in space, or on same floor in building
    Elevator - size, controls
    Etc. - door hardware, switches, signage, ?
  4. Utilities - electrical, gas, plumbing:
    Building - amounts, sizes and locations
    Space - lighting, electricity, phones,
    Space conditioning - heat, air
    Sprinkler system -
    Billing system -
  5. Restaurants:
    Hood Ð existing (type 1 or 2) or ability to install economically
    Electric - power and phases
    Gas - supply (2"?)
    Grease trap - existing or feasibility
    Garbage - availability and system etc.
    Health code permits -
  6. Signage amount and type permitted:
  7. Hours of usage and access - permitted or required
  8. Anticipated building changes
