Physis Fitness Center - San Francisco, CA

This is a full-service fitness center, which is located in the basements of two buildings and under the landscaped sidewalks of Market Street. The center includes exercise areas, dance floor, swimming pool, locker rooms and a restaurant and lounge.

Because the lounge area is negatively shaped by the sidewalk tree wells that project into the height of code-approved usable space, a creative design was needed. The solution generated dining and lounging features that use the potentially unusable spaces so that they now give attractive character to the fitness center.
